The White House (not the president's, the Whites')

I placed my forehead on my knees. I was rolled up in a ball in the corner of my room, numb, the darkness seeping into my mind.
After Lacey and John had found me in Volterra, they brought me back here, saying they had orders to carry out from the Volturi. They saw me as lost, a desperate child in need of care.
The strangest thing was how they acted. Lacey told me they were brother and sister, but they acted like mates. And Lacey had my voice, my manners, although the two had eyes bluer than the sky. All three of us made a strange, abnormal family.

As a stepped onto the front porch of the house I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. My arm raised and I knocked on the door before ringing the doorbell.

I jumped at the sudden noise. Who could it be? Lacey or John wouldn't knock. Out of curiousity, I slowly got up and walked towards the door, hesitantly. When I opened it, Lily, of all people stood there.

I just stood there staring back at Evangline, at a loss for words. "You win" I said after a moment. My voice came out pained and constricted.

When I opened my mouth to speak, my teeth made a sound similar to unsheathing a sword. "He's with you, isn't he?"

I winced at the sound "hes becoming dangerous, he says he wants to be with me but its like hes having personality changes. And its all your damn friends faults. If Lacey and John had left him alone he wouldn't be this way? Do you realize what he did? He practically suffocated himself and thats when it all started!" I shouted in anger, forgetting that I was dealing with a highly dangerou predatory vampire.

"Don't blame Lacey and John," I said in a dead voice, my teeth clicking. "It's not they're fault. The Volturi told them to do it. If you want to blame anyone, blame me."

"Why you? If the volturi are behind this, why should I blame you?" I challenged stepping closer to her. My eyes bore into hers I was angry by this whole thing and I wasn't leaving without answers.

"Because I'm the one who drank his blood and turned him half-vampire."

I cringed painfully, as I fought back tears this was unbelievably painful I don'w know why i had bothered to come. "the other side calls himself Seth, any ideas?"

"Lacey said something. That when a werewolf or vampire splits his personality, his soul splits, too. When he dies, the two parts of his soul become new people, who are bound to eachother for eternity. That's what Lacey and John are: they're two parts of a split soul."

(omg i'm freaked out right now)

"Is he dangerous?" I inquired anxiously.

(i am in a house full of drunk people)


"He can be," I told her. "But only if it's Seth. He's the more wild one of the two. And he told me that he's getting stronger, trying to overpower Sin."

(Holy crap, grab a bat you might need it.)

A panicked noise escaped my lips "how can I stop him?" I asked as I started to panic.

(um... thx 4 the advice)

I bowed my head. "Um, I'm not sure." In truth, I did know. I had to die. But I didn't want Lily to know that, because, well... I wanted Seth to take over. I couldn't, wouldn't, live my life alone for all of eternity, no matter how selfish the notion.

(LOL, don't mean to scare you.)

"So Sin's gone?" The pain was devasting, Sin was my one true love. The only one who ever gave a damn about me. The one I would have married. My life had been hell, I'd been raped, abused you name it I had gone through it, and then Sin came along and he put an end to it.

I could see the heartbreak in Lily's eyes. The devastation. I really was a heartless person. But she'd get over it... find a new mate for her short, human life... and I wouldn't be alone.
She looked like she was going to cry.
"There is a way to save him," I mumbled. "If I die, Seth won't have any reason to live. Sin will take over." It took everything I had to say those words to her.

(Sorry, that sucks)

I shook my head in utter disbelief "but thats not fair!"

I looked down, tears filling up my eyes. "I know."

My stomach seemed to flip over on itself and I thought I would be ill.

(speaking of Chris where is that guy?)

I knew how she felt. To lose all hope... that awful pain that gnawed at you until you wanted to die.

(He probably went to bed)

I looked up at her "I'm sorry I bothered you, I-I know I'm the last person you wanted to see, but I had too." I said as my voice was on the breaking point.

I didn't hate Lily. She was very nice, and I didn't want her to be hurt. When her voice cracked, I reached out a hand to touch her shoulder. "I'm sorry you got mixed up with all this."

"Your not the only one" I said quietly "I'm sorry I was so harsh earlier."
