| I sat on a damp log that had washed up on the shore a few days ago. It was the early hours of the morning, and no one, that I could see, was awake. Except for me.
A slight breeze blew my hair away from my face. I loved the ocean. There was no better palce... except for maybe the woods.
I had a long night - hunting a vampire with the rest of the pack. We didn't find what we were looking for, though. The leech had ran across the border. I hate it when they do that. Embry told us a story, later on, that he had seen her plain in sight one second; the next second, right before he was about to attack, she was gone. He said she somewhat resembled a vampire they had tracked down a while back... but it couldn't have been her. She was gone.
I'd only gotten a few hours of sleep, but I love to see the sunrise. It's what I look forward to most.

| As I found myself asleep against the raft which I had used that following night to saviour that last bit of life I thought I had in me. Those memories still running through my head. Why am I not dead? I felt the early morning light from the sun seep threw the slight opening of my eyelids. I just hoped so much that I had landed in a vampire ditrict otherwise I would have no way of saving myself. | |

| It was then that I noticed a raft. A raft with some figure lying beside it.
I sniffed the air that the wind blew my way. I smelled...
an enemy.
In the blink of an eye, I was on my toes, prepared to attack at any second if need be. But.. the figure didn't move. I slowly stepped towards it to see it more closely.
"What are you doing here?!" I barked at the bloodsucker.

| The figure stirred slightly. I couldn't take my chances.
Quickly, I ran to the woods, phasing on my way there. As soon as I hit the first layer of trees, I cried out "VAMPIRE ON THE BEACH!" to the rest of the pack.
I waited impatiently on them to respond.

| I screamed when I heard the dog run to the edge of what I thought to be a forest. I heard her shout to what was obviously others. I awake suddenly The only place I could think of running was in the completly oppisite way past the forests. As I run I could feel the sweat building up under my clothes. will I make it out in time? | |

| Embry and Quil respond in seconds.
"Where is it?"
"On the beach, near a raft, she might have gotten a head start though."
They nodded and began running in the direction my finger pointed toward. I ran after them, easily getting ahead in no time at all. I was the fastest runner of the pack.
When we got back to the last place I had seen her, she was gone.
"She must have run away from where I ran.. She's heading for the border."
And we again began chasing in my chosen direction.
After a few minutes, we saw her in clear view. She was a mere 30 seconds ahead of us.
